What it means for your Virgin Money Pension

Your Virgin Money Pension is currently exempt from inheritance tax on death.

But from April 2027 unspent pensions will be included in the value of your estate on death. So there may be inheritance tax to pay.

What it means for your Virgin Money Investment Account

Capital Gains Tax rates increased on 30 October 2024. The lower rate has risen from 10% to 18% and the higher rate from 20% to 24%. So if you cash in your investments and CGT is payable, it’ll be at the increased rates.

There’s no change to the £3,000 tax-free allowance.
