Optional extras

Our optional extras cover you for lots of activities, from skiing to golf.

Travel disruption cover

If your trip departure is delayed for more than 12 hours due to natural disaster or civil unrest, we’ll pay up to £100 to help compensate for the inconvenience.

If you abandon your trip because the alternative public transport offered to you isn’t suitable, we’ll pay you up to £1,000 for any travel and accommodation costs that you can’t get back.

If your scheduled transport is cancelled or delayed for more than 12 hours then we will pay an amount to contribute towards telephone calls, meals and refreshments.

Costs for day-to-day living like food or drink that you would normally expect to pay.

Costs for accommodation or public transport, if your operator has offered you a suitable alternative.

Winter sports cover

We'll pay a contribution towards winter sports equipment which you own or hire, if it's lost, stolen or damaged.

If you are ill or injured during your holiday and can't ski or snowboard, we will pay for the cost of your ski pack up to a total of £510 (depending on your cover level). This includes ski school fees, equipment hire and your lift pass if you’ve already paid and can't get your money back.

Subject to your location and dates of travel, if the piste is closed for more than 12 hours during your holiday, we will pay for you to get to the nearest resort or pay an amount for each 24 hour period you are unable to ski and there is no other resort available.

Lost or stolen ski equipment if you didn't report it to the police within 24 hours of discovering it was missing.

If your ski equipment is damaged, you’ll need to bring it home with you so we can check it.

If your ski equipment is lost or stolen during a journey, you’ll need to report it to the carrier and get a property irregularity report, to support your claim.

Adjustable excess levels

Adjust how much excess you pay if you make a claim by changing your premium amount.

If you pay an extra premium, we'll include an 'excess waiver' in your policy, which means you won't need to pay any excess if you need to claim.

Or you can reduce the cost of your premium by choosing to double your excess if you need to claim.

Even if you select the 'excess waiver', you may still have to pay an increased medical excess if you claim because of a declared medical condition or sports / leisure activity.

Business cover

If you're on a business trip and your laptop, mobile phone or other computer equipment is lost, stolen, or damaged we will cover the cost of replacing it. We’ll pay you up to £500 for any single item after we have deducted an amount for wear and tear and loss of value.

If any of your business equipment is lost, stolen or damaged, and you need to have a replacement couriered to you in an emergency, we will pay £200 towards the cost.

If you have an accident during your business trip, we will double the amount we pay you under our standard personal accident cover if you are travelling on a booked business trip that you or your employer has paid for.

If any of your business equipment is lost, stolen, or damaged and you need to hire replacements, we will pay £50 per day towards this cost, up to a total of £500. You won’t need to pay an excess for this.

Business equipment lost or stolen because it was left unattended in a public place.

Anything you can't prove you own, or prove the value of.

Any valuables or mobiles that are not carried in your hand baggage.

Golf cover

We'll pay if your golf clubs, golf bag, non-motorised golf trolley, or golf shoes are lost or stolen.

If you have already paid for green fees, club hire or tuition, and are ill or injured and can't play or take part, we will pay up to £75 per day, up to a total of £300. You’ll need to have a medical certificate to confirm you were not well enough to play. You won’t need to pay an excess for this.

If you lose documents, and this prevents you from taking part in any prepaid golfing activity, we will pay you up to £75 per day, up to a total of £300. You won’t need to pay an excess for this.

Golf equipment or documents if they were left unattended in a public place.

Lost or stolen golf equipment will only be covered if you report it to the police and get a written police report.
