What is an Unsolicited Credit Limit Increase offer?

From time to time we will review your account and as a result we may, unless you’ve asked us not to, write to you to offer you an increase to your credit limit.

Depending on what you’ve told us you’d like to happen with credit limit increase offers the new limit may be applied automatically or only if you tell us you’d like to accept it.

It’s no problem if you decide you don’t want to accept the credit limit increase, you can opt out of a specific offer or opt out of receiving credit limit increase offers all together.

You can of course request a change to your credit limit at any time, or change what you’d like us to do with credit limit increase offers in Online Service, links shown below.

How can I accept or decline the offer?

Depending on what you’ve told us you want to happen with credit limit increase offers you may not need to do anything at all.

If you’ve told us you’d like the offer applied automatically we will apply the increased limit unless you ask us not to. You’ll still have at least 30 days to consider and can accept it earlier if you’d like.

If you’ve told us you’d like to give us permission before any increase is applied we won’t apply an increase to your account until we’ve heard from you. You’ll have at least 30 days to consider the offers, if you’d like to accept it let us know, if not you don’t need to do anything, the offer will simply expire.

If you haven’t told us what you’d like us to do, your account will be set up to automatically apply the increased credit limit unless you ask us not to.

Whatever you choose to do it’s simple to let us know that you’d like to accept or decline the offer. Let us know in Online Service, links shown below, or give us a call.

If you’d like to ask us to review your credit limit increase you can request this in Account Options screen within Online Service.

We’ll review your request and let you know the outcome.

Some things to consider

A higher credit limit could give you greater flexibility and convenience to meet your financial needs. But it could also mean you take on too much debt, which could be expensive or take a long time to pay off. So make sure you think seriously about whether you need a higher credit limit.
