Choose how to add more money

First, check your ISA limits

Each tax year you can pay in up to your annual tax-free allowance (subject to the terms and conditions of your account), the current ISA subscription limit is £20,000. This annual allowance may change in future tax years.

With an ISA you can save money as cash (in a cash ISA), invest in the stock market (in a Stocks & Shares ISA), lend your money to other individuals or companies as a loan (in an Innovative Finance ISA1 ), or save towards your first home and/or retirement (in a Lifetime ISA1 ). Your annual allowance can be used across all four types of ISAs but the maximum you can save in a Lifetime ISA is £4,000 per tax year.

You can transfer your money between the different types of ISAs, however please remember you can only subscribe to one of each ISA types, Cash ISA, Stock and Shares ISA, Innovative Finance ISA and Lifetime ISA in each tax year, up to the combined annual subscription limit.

If you are reinvesting in a Fixed Rate Cash E-ISA, to ensure money is accepted into your new account we must receive all money within 30 days from maturity.

Just remember, if you choose to add some or all of your ISA allowance to your Cash ISA, you limit the amount of tax-free savings you can make in a Stocks and Shares ISA, an Innovative Finance ISA and a Lifetime ISA in the same tax year.

Add more money

You will need to wait until maturity to add funds, and if you did not pay into your ISA in the previous tax year, you may need to renew your ISA declaration first (which you can do when you're logged into your account).

If you are adding more money as part of this year’s tax-free allowance of £20,000 from a non ISA account, you can use one of the following methods:
