These terms apply if you have our Everyday Cashback credit card. They cover the rules on how you can earn Everyday Cashback using your credit card.

Everyday Cashback is an extra product feature that comes with your credit card. It’s separate to your main credit card terms and those terms remain unchanged.

How does Everyday Cashback work?

It’s simple. You earn 0.25% cashback on all purchases you make using your card, up to a maximum of £15 cashback each month on your credit card account.

We give cashback on any transaction that is a “card purchase” under your credit card terms. Some examples are things like shopping with your favourite brands, supermarkets and card spending at restaurants and coffee shops.

You won’t earn cashback on other credit card transactions such as balance transfers, money transfers and cash advances. Examples of cash advances are ATM withdrawals, gambling, investments or when you buy foreign currency.

How do we calculate what Everyday Cashback I’ve earned?

We calculate the amount of Everyday Cashback you are due on a monthly basis. We carry out this calculation automatically at the end of each monthly statement period.

We will round up the calculation to the nearest penny.

How do I get my Everyday Cashback money?

You don’t need to do anything to get your Everyday Cashback. We automatically reduce your credit card balance by the amount of cashback you have earnt, and you will see this reflected on your statement.

Can I get Everyday Cashback from my additional cardholder’s spending?

Absolutely. The same Everyday Cashback rules apply to any spending by any additional cardholders on your account. Everyday Cashback gets added to your credit card account, it doesn’t get paid to the additional cardholder.

Please note that the £15 monthly cashback limit applies as a total for all spending on your account. Whether the spending is by the main account holder or any additional card holders.

What happens to my Everyday Cashback if there is an issue with a transaction I’ve made?

We will reverse any cashback given on any purchase refunds, credit adjustments or fraudulent transactions on your account. Where possible, the appropriate deduction from your cashback balance will be applied in the same statement month as the original cashback transaction.

However, there may be some occasions where this is not possible, and the deduction is carried out in a later month. This may generate a negative cashback amount on your statement for that month. However, we won’t request any money back from you. We will simply deduct the amount owed from any cashback you gain in future.

I understand there is another Virgin Money Cashback programme – can I take part in that too?

Yes, our other cashback programme “Virgin Money Cashback” is available to all Virgin Money credit cardholders. It allows you to take advantage of specific retailer offers that are available from time to time. For example, you might be offered 5% cashback from a specific supermarket for a limited period. This is a separate cashback programme. You need to register for Virgin Money Cashback and separate terms for that programme will apply.

You will be able to benefit from both Everyday Cashback and Virgin Money Cashback at the same time. For example, using the 5% supermarket cashback offer scenario above. You would be able to gain the 0.25% Everyday Cashback while also receiving the 5% cashback from the Virgin Money Cashback programme.

Will these terms ever change?

  • We may need to make changes from time to time. For example:
  • if we want to improve our service;
  • to correct errors or make these terms clearer;
  • to respond to changes in the law or best practice;
  • if we need to change the offer to stop fraud; or
  • if there is a change to the systems or technology we use.

We will always make sure any changes are fair and reasonable.

If we are making a change that is better for you, we can change these terms immediately.

If we are making a change that is less favourable, we will give you 30 days notice. You have the right to close your credit card account if you are unhappy with any changes.

How will we communicate with you?

We will get in touch with you by e-mail. This may include periodic updates about improvements to our Everyday Cashback offering. For example, we may make you aware if we increase the rate of Everyday Cashback available on categories of purchases for a limited period of time.

Can I check how much Everyday Cashback I’ve earned?

You can check this in the Cashback hub within our credit card app.

When might we stop you from earning and receiving Everyday Cashback?

Hopefully this never needs to happen. But we can stop you or any additional cardholder from earning or receiving Everyday Cashback if we suspect fraud or abuse of these terms or your credit card terms.

What happens if my credit card account is closed?

If you close your credit card, you will still be entitled to any cashback due. You can request the cashback is sent to you via the credit card app.

What else do I need to know?

Please note that any cashback you earn isn’t protected by the FSCS scheme. You also won’t earn any interest on any cashback that you’ve earned but not yet redeemed.

What if I have a complaint about Everyday Cashback?

You should get in touch with us as soon as possible and we’ll do our best to help you. You can find more details on the complaints process within your credit card terms – the same process applies.
