Home emergency cover steps in when something goes wrong at home and it needs sorting soon.
With 24/7 support, we’ll arrange a trusted contractor to fix the problem or make things safe again, stopping further damage and stress.
For an extra cost, this optional add-on gives you:
- 24/7 emergency helpline
- cover for the cost of repairs, up to £1,500
- no excess to pay
What’s covered
Home emergency cover helps with urgent problems that need fixing straight away.
It can help with emergencies like:
- boiler breakdowns
- burst pipes
- blocked drains
- lost keys
- pest infestations
We’ll cover the cost of repairs up to £1,500 per claim and there’s no limit to how many claims you can make.
We’ll even cover the cost of overnight accommodation if it’s not safe to stay at home.
What's not covered
This cover is designed for emergencies, not everyday problems.
It does not cover things like:
- general repairs
- blocked toilets or drains caused by misuse
- boilers that are older than 15 years
If it’s not urgent, it isn’t covered. This is where your buildings and contents insurance may be able to help instead.

Yes. If your claim is accepted, we’ll arrange for a suitable contractor to come to your home and try to deal with the emergency.
If you contact a contractor yourself before making a claim, the work will not be covered.
There’s no excess to pay for a Home Emergency claim, and there’s no limit to how many claims you can make. Each claim is limited to £1,500, including VAT.
Home emergencies must be reported within 48 hours of finding it, and it must meet the definition of an emergency in your policy wording.
