These Virgin Atlantic Reward+ Credit Card Flying Club Terms are between you and us. We’re Virgin Atlantic Airways Limited (registered in England at The VHQ, Fleming Way, Crawley, West Sussex RH10 9DF). The Flying Club terms and conditions also apply.

Earning Virgin Atlantic Credit Card Points – Terms for existing Reward and Reward+ primary cardholders (referrer):

  1. We’ll give you 5,000 bonus Virgin Points for each friend who successfully opens either a Virgin Atlantic Reward or Reward+ Credit Card.
  2. This offer is available on an ongoing basis until we withdraw it.
  3. To be eligible for this offer your account must be in good standing.
  4. Your friend must;
    • Apply for a Virgin Atlantic Credit Card via virginmoney.com/referafriend.
    • If accepted, download the Virgin Money Credit Card app.
    • Go to the app’s Rewards Lounge and enter the refer a friend code you gave them within 60 days of opening their account.
    • Spend a minimum of £3,000 on card purchases in the first 90 days of opening their account.
    • Not already be a Virgin Atlantic Credit Card customer or have held a Virgin Atlantic Credit Card within the last 6 months.
  5. You can refer as many friends as you wish by sharing your refer a friend code with them. Your referral code stays active for 12 months from the day you first reveal it in the app. During that time, you can earn a maximum of 50,000 points through the refer a friend offer – equivalent to 10 successful referrals. We will only offer points to you as the primary cardholder.
  6. Check the app 12 months after revealing your code, as it will be replaced with a new one. There may be other times when we need to change the code but we’ll try to keep this to a minimum.
  7. Before sharing the refer a friend code, you must ensure you have obtained your friend’s consent to receiving this type of marketing communication.
  8. We will not discuss the outcome of your friend’s application with you, but we will let you know by email if you have been successful in receiving your refer a friend bonus points.
  9. You, and your friend, must have a Flying Club account linked to your Virgin Atlantic Credit Card to receive your points.
  10. To redeem Virgin Points through Virgin Red you and your friend must have a Virgin Red membership. Full info about the rewards programme can be found here.
  11. Points will be applied once your friend has reached the qualifying spend amount and will show on your statement as ‘Credit card bonus points’.
  12. We have the right to withhold or withdraw points if a false or fraudulent application is identified.

Earning Virgin Atlantic Reward+ Credit Card Points - Terms for new customer referred by a friend (referee):

  1. You can take up this offer if you have been referred by a friend who is an existing Virgin Atlantic Credit Card customer and has shared a refer a friend code with you to apply for a Virgin Atlantic Reward+ Credit Card.
  2. This offer is available on an ongoing basis until we withdraw it.
  3. To qualify you must;
    • Apply for a Virgin Atlantic Reward+ Credit Card via virginmoney.com/referafriend.
    • If accepted, download the Virgin Money Credit Card app.
    • Go to the app’s Rewards Lounge and enter the refer a friend code within 60 days of account opening.
    • Spend a minimum of £3,000 on card purchases in the first 90 days of opening your account.
    • Not already be a Virgin Atlantic Credit Card customer or have held a Virgin Atlantic Credit Card within the last 6 months.
  4. If you follow these terms and we accept your application for the Card, we’ll give you;
    • 7,000 refer a friend bonus Virgin Points
    • Your friend will receive 5,000 points for referring you.
  5. You will also receive 18,000 welcome bonus Virgin Points on your first purchase using your Reward+ Credit Card in the first 90 days from initial account opening. There’s no minimum spend to qualify for these points. You will still get this welcome bonus even if you do not reach your qualifying spend noted above.
  6. Before applying, you will need to complete our card checker tool. This will give you an initial eligibility check for our Card. It’s quick and easy to use and won’t impact your credit score.
  7. Please be aware that your final card application will involve a credit history check. We can’t guarantee your application will be accepted.
  8. In addition to both sets of bonus Virgin Points, you’ll earn 1.5 Virgin Points for every £1 you spend on card purchases. You won’t earn Virgin Points on cash advances, balance transfers, money transfers, interest, or fees.
  9. You’ll earn 3 Virgin Points for every £1 you spend directly with Virgin Atlantic or Virgin Holidays.
  10. We will not discuss the outcome of your application with your friend, but we will notify them by email when their points have been awarded if successful.
  11. Bonus points for your refer a friend offer will be applied once you have reached the qualifying spend amount noted above. We will inform you by email when you have met the spend threshold. Your welcome bonus points will be applied on your first statement and both bonuses will show on your statement as ‘Credit card bonus points’.
  12. You will not be eligible to receive any other bonus points offers in addition to this one.
  13. There’s a cap on the Virgin Points you can earn each month based on your credit limit. So, if your credit limit is £5,000, you’ll earn points on the first £5,000 of card purchases in a month. If you spend more than that, you won’t earn points on that bit. We’ll reset the counter every month on the date of your credit card statement. The cap doesn’t apply to bonus points.
  14. You, and your friend, need to be a member of the Virgin Atlantic Flying Club and must have a Flying Club account linked to your respective Virgin Atlantic Credit Cards to receive your points. You can join Virgin Atlantic Flying Club here. We’ll add your points to your Flying Club account every month within 5 days of your credit card statement date. You’ll get any bonus points in the month after you’ve earned them.
  15. Virgin Points is the rewards currency provided by the Virgin Group rewards programme and managed by Virgin Red. A Virgin Red membership is required to redeem Virgin Points through Virgin Red. Full info about the rewards programme can be found here.

Earning Virgin Atlantic Reward+ Credit Card Flying Club Tier Rewards

  1. If you spend £10,000 or more on card purchases over 12 months, you’ll earn a Flying Club reward voucher. You can only earn one voucher every 12 months. The 12 months resets on each anniversary of the date your Virgin Atlantic Reward Credit Card account was opened.
  2. The value of reward you earn depends on your Flying Club tier status when you redeem the voucher.
    • If you are a Red tier member, your voucher can be redeemed for an upgrade or companion seat up to the value of 75,000 Virgin Points.
    • If you are a Silver or Gold tier member, your voucher can be redeemed for an upgrade or companion seat up to the value of 150,000 Virgin Points.
    • Vouchers are redeemed in full when used for upgrades or companion seats less than the voucher value, but for any redemption over the value of the voucher, the remaining balance can be funded with additional points.
      Your voucher value depends on your tier status when you redeem the voucher not when you earned it, so if you are a Red tier member when you earned the voucher but move to Silver it will be worth up to 150,000 Virgin Points when you redeem it.
  3. Vouchers can only be redeemed on bookings for Virgin Atlantic operated flights for;
    • Either a Round Trip Companion Reward Seat. Take one person with you in a reward seat up to the points value of the voucher.
    • Or a Round Trip Cabin Upgrade. Upgrade a booked seat into a reward seat in a higher cabin up to the points value of the voucher.
    • You’ll still need to pay any taxes, fees and surcharges. If the value of your reward seat is higher than the value of your voucher, then additional points will be required to pay for the difference. Upgrades cannot be applied to Economy Light bookings.
  4. The reward will automatically be added to your Flying Club account within 30 days of earning it. It’ll be ready to spend as soon as it has been added.
  5. If you want to use your voucher, ring the Virgin Atlantic Flying Club contact centre on 0344 209 2722 to book.
  6. You can spend your reward for up to 24 months from the date it’s issued. That means you have to have booked your flights and taken the outbound flight within those 24 months. You can take the return journey afterwards.
