Fraud
Fraud happens when a payment is made by someone else without your permission. This could be due to stolen card details, a hacked account or being tricked into sharing information that lets someone access your money.
How can it happen?
- Your card is stolen and used by someone else
- Your online banking or app is hacked
- You clicked a phishing link and unknowingly shared your details
- Your card details were taken during an online scam or data breach
What are the red flags?
- Payments or transactions you don’t recognise
- Payments made in unfamiliar locations
- Alerts about activity you didn’t make
If we spot suspicious activity, we may temporarily pause a payment while we check it’s genuine.

Dispute
A dispute is different. It’s used when you did authorise the payment, but something went wrong with the goods or services.
Examples:
- Your item didn’t arrive
