Almost 17?

As Jumpstart accounts are for people aged up to 16 it’s time to transfer to an adult account.

We offer various products that you might wish to consider such as savings accounts or current accounts depending on what you would like to do with your money.

Consider all your options. You can transfer your cash into:

Savings accounts
Current accounts

If you transfer to an adult current account you have 2 options:

  1. Transfer online before turning 17. We'll do an online ID check to open your account. You'll have access to your money straight away. If, having looked at your options, you decide to transfer to an M Account or M Plus Account, you can do this online below.
  2. Do nothing and after your 17th birthday we'll close your Jumpstart account and open an M Account for you. You'll need to bring ID into a Branch to access your money.

Got an M Power Account?

At 18 your M Power Account transfers into an M Plus Account. Consider moving the money from your Jumpstart account into your M Power Account. You can then close your Jumpstart account.

Closing your account

Of course, your Jumpstart account can be closed at any time. If you are already operating your account and wish to close it, you can contact us yourself. If there is an adult in charge of your account, they will need come into the nearest branch with ID or if they agree they could first transfer the operation of the account to you - they’ll just need to let us know
