How it works

  1. Choose the card that suits you
    The total bonus points that you'll earn depends on the card you choose. Select your card, check your eligibility and apply.
  2. Join the club
    To use your points, join Virgin Atlantic Flying Club. This will also make you a member of Virgin Red, the rewards club from Virgin. In the credit card app, link your Virgin Red account and link your Flying Club number.
  3. Enter your referral code
    In the Credit Card app, head to the Rewards Lounge. Then enter the code from your friend within 60 days of opening your account.
  4. Get your points!
    Make a purchase to get your welcome bonus points (no minimum spend). Spend £3,000 or more to get your refer a friend bonus points. You must do both within 90 days of account opening. Your points will show in your app 5 days after your next statement is available.

Questions about Virgin Atlantic Credit Cards

Points are earned for every £1 spent on card purchases. You won’t earn points on any cash transactions, balance transfers or money transfers.

With a Virgin Atlantic Reward Credit Card you'll earn 0.75 points for every £1 you spend. Or, if you have chosen the Virgin Atlantic Reward+ Credit Card with a £160 annual fee, you'll earn 1.5 points for every £1 you spend. Every time you spend direct with Virgin Atlantic and Virgin Holidays you'll also earn double Virgin Points.

We calculate the points earned on each transaction, including points on parts of £1 spent. This total amount is then rounded up to the nearest whole point and added to your Flying Club account within 5 days of your monthly statement.

The points you can earn each month are capped based on your credit limit. For example, if your credit limit is £5,000, you'll earn points on the first £5,000 of card purchases in a month. If you spend more than that, then you won't earn points on any additional spending. We'll reset the counter every month on the date of your credit card statement. You must have provided Virgin Money with a valid Flying Club number in the name of the main account holder to earn your Virgin Points.

You can choose from a huge range of rewards such as flights and upgrades with Virgin Atlantic and our airlines partner, as well as other rewards like hotel stays, spa days and so much more.

You’ll find links to the Virgin Atlantic Flying Club and Virgin Red from the app. Just tap ‘Virgin Atlantic Rewards Lounge'.

In the app just tap ‘Virgin Atlantic Rewards Lounge'. If you've given us your Flying Club number, you'll be able to see the points you've earned with your credit card during your last statement period.

If you can't see your points, it's usually because we don't have your Flying Club number. To update this in the app, go to the same screen (tap ‘Virgin Atlantic Rewards Lounge') and enter your Flying Club number - it's a 10-digit number which starts with a 1. It may take a few days for this to update, so keep checking back. If there are any issues, we'll let you know.

Having trouble?

  1. If you’ve forgotten your number, or you’re not yet a member, visit Flying Club.
  2. If you’ve tried to add this and your number isn’t recognised, please check to ensure the name and date of birth on your Flying Club account match those provided on your credit card profile.
  3. You can only link a Flying Club account in your name, so if you’ve used someone else’s account, please update this to your own Flying Club number.

It only takes a few steps to enter your referral code.

  1. Download and register for the Virgin Money Credit Card app.
  2. Tap your Virgin Atlantic Credit Card.
  3. Then tap ' Virgin Atlantic Rewards Lounge'.
  4. Head to the 'Refer a friend' section.
  5. Then copy and paste the message from your friend that includes your referral code. We'll shorten it to just the code for you. You need to do this within 60 days of account opening.

Only card purchases. It will not include cash advances, balance transfers, money transfers, interest or fees. To earn your refer a friend bonus Virgin Points, you need to spend £3,000 or more on card purchases within 90 days of account opening.

Your friend will get 5,000 bonus Virgin Points if you:

  • Enter your friends referral code in the Virgin Atlantic Rewards Lounge in the Credit Card app. You need to do this within 60 days of account opening.
  • Spend £3,000 on your Virgin Atlantic Credit Card within 90 days of opening your account.

Once you've done this, we'll email your friend to tell them they're getting their bonus points.

Yes, once you have your Virgin Atlantic Credit Card you can refer friends too. We'll reward you for the first 10 successful referrals. You'll get 5,000 bonus Virgin Points for each referral, up to the annual 50,000 refer a friend bonus points limit. This limit resets one year from when you first reveal your code. Each friend you refer will be eligible for their refer a friend bonus points.

Follow these steps to share your code with your friends:

  1. Head to the Virgin Money Credit Card app.
  2. Tap on your Virgin Atlantic Credit Card.
  3. Then tap 'Virgin Atlantic Rewards Lounge'.
  4. Tap into the 'Refer a friend' section.
  5. Tap ‘Reveal code’ and then tap 'Copy code'. This will copy your referral code and includes a handy link to our website that includes everything your friend needs to know. Share this with your friends.

You’ll need to make your minimum payment when it’s due. If we do not receive the minimum payment when it’s due we will withdraw the promotional rate with effect from the start of that statement period.

When a promotional rate ends or is withdrawn, we charge the current standard interest rate that applies to that transaction.

You will not be able to transfer a balance from another Virgin Money, Clydesdale Bank, Yorkshire Bank or B credit card and should not use your card to repay other borrowing from Clydesdale Bank plc.

Credit is available, subject to status, only to UK residents aged 18 or over.
