Mobile and gadget insurance
Mobile and gadget insurance from Assurant for items like mobiles, laptops, tablets and cameras. If your tech is lost, stolen, damaged, or breaks down, they’ll aim to repair or replace with the same or similar model.
Key features of the cover
- Worldwide cover against loss, theft, damage and breakdown (including faults)
- Your family’s mobiles and gadgets are covered too. This could be a partner, spouse or any other relative living at the same address as you
- Cover for mobile and gadgets where the price you paid is up to a maximum amount of £2,000 per device, including VAT
- Up to two mobile and up to two gadget claims in a 12-month period
- For each successful claim, there is an excess of £75 for mobiles, £50 for laptops and tablets, and £25 for all other gadgets.
- Gadgets are covered until they're five years old (from date of purchase)

Frequently asked questions
No, you don’t need to activate any of your insurance benefits but there are some actions you should take.
Travel Insurance - If you or anyone insured on this policy have any pre-existing medical conditions, you may need to inform AIG, as these may affect your travel insurance cover. You will not be covered for any claims related to any of these pre-existing medical conditions unless AIG agrees to cover them. You can contact them on 01273 740 983.
Breakdown - You should download the Green Flag app. The app allows the Green Flag technician to pinpoint your location in the UK using GPS. You can also track your technician’s arrival. Visit Green Flag Link opens in a new window for more info. Please note this is not available to use if you breakdown in Europe, instead call +44 345 878 5425.
Mobile phone and Gadget - You don’t need to register your mobile phone or gadgets to be covered but it can simplify the claims process if you do. You can register your mobile you’ll need the make, model, IMEI number and the telephone number. For gadgets you’ll need make, model, serial number, purchase date & price.
If you choose to, you can turn off your insurance benefits. When you turn off your benefits, you’ll lose all your cover. The benefits can either be turned on or turned off, but they cannot be individually selected. During this time, you won’t pay your monthly fee for maintaining the account. You can go through eligibility again and turn on your insurance benefits in the future.
