Key things to know about switching to Reward+
If you choose to switch to a Virgin Atlantic Reward+ card:
- You'll earn Virgin Points at a higher rate.
- There is a £160 annual fee.
- All Virgin Points earned on card purchases made with your Reward card will be doubled. The increase in points to the Reward+ rate applies to any points earned from the start of your anniversary year.
- You'll continue to use your existing plastic credit card. Your 16 digit card number, balance and credit limit will stay the same.
- Your interest rates may change. You can see your current interest rates on your statement.

The Rewards Lounge section of the app shows your progress towards a reward voucher. You'll see your total Virgin Points if you have linked your Flying Club and Virgin Red accounts.
Consider your spending habits. If you’re spending around £840 a month in each anniversary year, you could earn a reward voucher with the Reward+ card. You’ll earn more Virgin Points on your spending, but this card has an annual fee so it depends what’s most important to you.

Your questions answered
You can switch to a Reward+ card if you:
- Have a Virgin Atlantic Reward Credit Card (you cannot switch to the card type you already have).
- Are the primary cardholder.
- Are a member of Virgin Atlantic's Flying Club and have linked your Flying Club account.
- Have not already switched twice in your anniversary year. Your anniversary year is the year running from when you first opened your Virgin Atlantic Credit Card. You can see your anniversary date in the Rewards Lounge section of the app.
- Are up to date with all your credit card payments and within your credit limit.
When you switch to a Reward+ card:
- You'll earn Virgin Points at the higher rate from your switch completion date.
- If you have already earned Virgin Points on your Reward card, don't worry. These will be doubled from the start of your anniversary year up to your switch date.
The amount you need to spend to earn a reward changes from the date you switch.
With a Reward+ card, if you spend £10,000 or more on card purchases over 12 months, you’ll earn a reward voucher. If you switch to Reward+ we'll check if you've spent enough to earn a reward voucher. If you have, Virgin Atlantic will add your voucher to your Flying Club account within 30 days of the switch.
You can only earn one reward voucher every 12 months. Switching cards does not allow you to earn two reward vouchers.
Reward+ has a £160 annual fee. You'll see this on your statement the month after you switch.
If you remain on Reward+, this fee is due each year. It will be added to your statement on your anniversary month.
Depending on your anniversary date, the fee may be due in less than 12 months. You can check your anniversary date in the app.
We don't make any changes to welcome bonus points unless you've switched within the first 90 days of your account opening.
If you switch from Reward to Reward+ during this time you will be eligible to earn the higher welcome points bonus, as though you opened the Reward+ card. However, you won’t be entitled to any additional promotional offers when switching.
You need to have made a purchase with your card to be entitled to any welcome points bonus.
Switching cards does not allow you to earn two sets of welcome bonus points.
