You can get a full breakdown of the benchmark index for each of our funds in the Key Investor Information (PDF, 115 KB).
As well as not including fees, benchmarks are different to funds in other ways too.
From time to time, organisations who manage an index may change the companies within it. For the benchmark index, this happens straightaway. But Virgin Money need to buy or sell investments in our fund to match those changes. This takes us a little time and there’s a cost to buying and selling these investments.
Other factors like taxation and the costs of managing money sometimes affect our fund too, but they don’t affect the benchmark in the same way.
