When you turn 17 years old you will no longer be eligible for a children’s account. We have got you covered - unless you ask us not to, we will automatically change your account when it reaches maturity. We will reach out to you before you turn 17 with more details.

Jumpstart account
Unless you ask us not to, your Jumpstart account will automatically change to an M Account, our super straightforward current account.
M Account is great for you if you
- Want to set up Direct Debts and make regular payments.
- Like managing your money using a mobile app.
- Want to save money - M Account comes with an option for a linked M Saver account which pays interest.
Just remember
- Your sort code and account number will stay the same.
- You’ll need to visit us in Store or go online to complete some forms before the account is up and running. Your account will be put on hold, and you won't be able to use your card (if you have one) until we receive up-to-date ID.

Headstart account
Unless you ask us not to, your Headstart account will transfer to an Instant Savings Account in the name of the young saver.
Instant Savings Account is great for them if they
- Want to withdraw money easily- there would no longer be a need to give notice to take money out.
- Would like to earn interest on their savings.
Just remember
- Your sort code and account number will stay the same.
- You would not be able to set up standing orders or Direct Debits, or use any type of lending (such as overdrafts).
- You and the young saver will need come into Store and sign some forms, so the young saver can use the new account.
