  • I am aged 18 years or over (the same goes for any additional cardholders).
  • I am a UK resident.
  • I have a UK bank or building society account.
  • I have good credit history.
  • I have an income of at least £7,000, or my household income is at least £15,000.
  • I am not an existing Virgin Atlantic Credit Card customer and I have not closed another Virgin Atlantic credit card in the last 6 months.

Eligibility criteria

At the end of the application process we'll carry out a credit score and we'll tell you whether you've been approved. In some circumstances, we may need some additional information and we'll take into account your age, status and financial background. Before you apply, please check the statements above are true.

You won't be approved if you are bankrupt or in an IVA, you have CCJs or defaults and if you have no credit history. If you are unsure of your credit history, then please contact Experian  for a copy of your credit file.

During the application you'll need:

  • Bank or building society account number and sort code.
  • Details of any accounts you want to make a balance transfer from. Don't worry if you don't have them handy. You can transfer a balance after your account is opened – though not from another credit card issued by Virgin Money.
  • Your Flying Club number, so we can add the miles you've earned to your account. Don't worry if you've not had chance to register for a Flying Club account, you can do so anytime at opens in a new window . Be sure to let us know your Flying Club number as soon as you can to start collecting your miles. Virgin Money will share your details with Virgin Atlantic so they can apply rewards to your Flying Club account.

At the end of the application:

  • We aim to give you an instant decision, but if additional checks or further information is needed, we’ll be in touch in 5 working days.
  • If one of our partners has rated your chances of acceptance, we may still need to carry out further checks - even if you received a high rating.

* You’ll earn double miles when you spend directly with Virgin Atlantic and Virgin Holidays via their Contact Centres and online only. Spend in Virgin Holidays retail stores or third party travel agents does not qualify to receive double miles.
