What does it cost?
The table below shows the costs for the two tariffs we offer. If you plan to use your card a fair amount, our 'Pay monthly' tariff might be best. Otherwise, our 'Pay as you go' option could be the one for you. See examples.
If you find you are using your card a lot more or a bit less than you thought, you can switch tariff, for free, once every four months.

What else you need to know
When you apply for a Virgin Prepaid MasterCard we have to verify your identity against the information you’ve given us, so we know it’s you.
If it's not possible to do a full ID check, we’ll set your card at a reduced spending limit, with a maximum spend of £1,600 a year - up to £600 of this can be withdrawn from cash machines.
It's possible to increase this limit but we’ll need you to send us documents so we can check your ID fully.
If you’d like to increase your limit, please note, there’s a £4.95 admin fee which is automatically debited from your Prepaid Card.
