Security Alert update
Criminals are targeting customers of all banks, trying to get them to download software that allows the criminal to take control of the customer's computer.
These criminals are cold-calling customers and pretending to be from various organisations (internet service providers, computer companies, banks, software firms and the police). When they call, they claim there is a problem with your computer or internet service (for example, something causing it to run slowly).
To avoid falling victim to this scam, all customers should:
Be wary of unsolicited phone calls.
Avoid letting someone you don't know or trust have access to your computer, especially remotely.
Never log on to Online Service (internet banking) while someone else has access to your computer.
Never disclose your 4-digit card PIN or your internet banking password, even by tapping them into the phone keypad.
If you think you may have been a victim of fraud, or you’ve received a call of this nature, please get in touch with us straightaway on 0345 850 2330.
