Welcome to our latest customer Lounge

Our newest location is Sheffield

Our award-winning Lounges have been part of our ambition to be a very different kind of bank for five years.

They’re about more than money and banking, they’re about making everyone better off. And they’re designed exclusively for our customers (once they’ve become Lounge members) to use, free of charge.

Tens of thousands of our customers already enjoy free membership – giving them access to all our Lounges – and we welcomed our millionth visitor in 2015.

Now, we’re pleased to announce the opening of our latest Lounge – our seventh – on Fargate in Sheffield.

Here, as well as all the great banking facilities you would expect from us, you’ll find a relaxed and welcoming environment with newspapers, TVs and iPads to keep you entertained, along with complimentary refreshments and free Wi-Fi as well as a juke box and a Wii games console.

Our biggest Lounge yet, it’s spread over three floors – so there’s plenty of room, whether you want to settle down on one of our comfy sofas or keep the little ones happy in our children’s area.

What really sets the Sheffield Lounge apart is the bowling and party area on the lower ground floor – which features two ten-pin bowling lanes, air hockey, table football, a pool table and a cinema screen.

The area can be booked in advance, for free, as a venue for a party (adults’ or children’s) or an evening event. All we ask is for a voluntary donation to one of our three chosen charities which will benefit the Sheffield community or our Virgin Money Charity of the Year – our Hosts will give you help doing this via our not-for-profit fundraising website,  Link opens in a new window when you arrive.

In contrast to the bowling and party area, upstairs, there’s a quiet, spacious area where you can escape the bustle of the outside world. Pick a book from our library or nestle into a corner with one of your own. If you’re a music lover, you can take your pick from our varied vinyl collection. Just put the headphones on, sit down and enjoy an old favourite.

Alternatively, sit and catch up with friends at our long wooden table, beautifully crafted from a single piece of oak – a replica of the one found in Sir Richard Branson’s home on Necker Island.

In Sheffield, like our other Lounges, we’re keen for local communities to benefit as well as customers. If you’re looking for a space to hold a community event or meeting outside normal opening hours, please get in touch with your nearest Lounge – see details below.

We look forward to welcoming you soon!
