Not too late to visit Winter Olympics
Winter sports fans considering a spur of the moment trip to Vancouver for the Winter Olympics may be in luck as the city is well equipped to handle a last minute rush, The Independent has reported.
The Vancouver tourist board has announced that plenty of accommodation options and event tickets are still available around the time of the games, which will run from 12th to 28th February 2010.
Walt Judas, of Tourism Vancouver, commented, "It's not unusual for people within close proximity of a city hosting the Olympics to get caught up in the excitement."
Over 350,000 visitors to Vancouver are expected for the games, with the opening and closing ceremonies likely to be the busiest times.
"We're advising people to consult the list of major tour operators listed on the Tourism Vancouver website (TourismVancouver.com) and to email them rather than the hotels themselves." Judas continued.
Great value travel insurance is available from Virgin Money for those planning a trip to Canada.
