The best of England’s tourist attractions have been recognised by the Enjoy England Awards for Excellence 2010, TravelMole has reported.
The ceremony took place in Brighton on April 23rd, and 46 gold and silver awards were presented, having been judged by a team of independent assessors.
Taking the coveted Outstanding Contribution to Tourism Award was the National Trust, which acts as the bastion of some of the most beautiful attractions in England.
James Berresford, chief executive of VisitEngland, commented, “The fantastic diversity and quality of tourism products across the length and breadth of England means we can compete confidently on the international stage, making this country a must visit destination for Brits and overseas visitors.”
Other winners on the night included Livingston Lodge Overnight Safari, which was named Best Tourism Experience, and Blakelow Farm Holiday Cottages, which won Self Catering Holiday of the Year.
Virgin Money offers travel insurance to those planning a domestic break.
