New research has revealed the person 18-30 year olds would most like to accompany them on a beach holiday, The Daily Mail has reported.
According to sunshine.co.uk, the poll found that 29 per cent of the 2,316 people surveyed would prefer to holiday with their friends over anyone else.
This was closely followed by mums, with 24 per cent, boyfriends, with 19 per cent, girlfriends, with 12 per cent, and siblings, with 7 per cent.
Just 3 per cent named their dad as their ideal holiday companion, making holidaying alone, which accounted for the remaining 6 per cent, a more popular option.
Sunshine.co.uk co-founder Chris Brown commented, "I think it’s a bit sad for dads that more people would prefer to go on holiday alone than with their old man, but it’s no surprise that so many would like to jet off with their mum, especially if they think they’ll have cash on tap if they should happen to run short."
42 per cent of those who wanted to holiday with their mum named their willingness to help out should they happen to run out of money as the primary reason behind their choice.
