Upgrading your card

To upgrade from a restricted card you'll need to send us 2 identity documents, one from each of the tables below.
  • The documents you send us must match the personal details you gave us on your application e.g. name, date of birth, address.
  • If you send a passport, driver's licence, residence permit or national ID card it must be within the expiry date.
  • If you send a utility bill, bank statement or insurance certificate these must be dated within the last 3 months.
  • Please make sure the documents are readable. Any unclear, illegible copies won't be accepted.

There's a £4.95 admin fee for the identity check which will be taken from your card.

We need one of these documents:

Please note, you can't use the same document twice. For example a UK driving licence can be used once as either a document from Table A or Table B.

Please send the two documents, along with a note quoting your account number (this is the 14 digit number on the back of your card, starting with 2231), to:

We'll write to let you know your card has been upgraded and return any original documents you send us. You should hear back from us within 2 weeks of us receiving your documentation.

If the documents you send us still don't give us enough information to upgrade your card we'll let you know.
