Freddie Flintoff is Father of the Year
SPORTS hero Andrew (Freddie) Flintoff has bowled over the nation to be named the Virgin Money Celebrity Dad of the Year 2007.
Picking up his award at the annual ceremony, which took place on the 14th June, Freddie commented: "Being a dad is a tough job, especially as I travel so much with the team. Making time for family is the most important thing to me and I am touched that the public have acknowledged that."
From Sports Personality of the Year to Celebrity Dad of the Year, Freddie is a national hero. He's credited as reigniting the nation's love of cricket leading England to Ashes triumph, captaining his country and touring the World with the England team. Traveling the globe, his family remains front of mind and Freddie flies his wife Rachael and kids Hollie and Corey out to join him when they can.
Freddie fought off stiff competition from famous fathers including Peter Andre, Gordon Ramsey and even the Prime Minister to win this coveted award.
Virgin Money's John Franklin, presented Freddie with his award. John commented: "Virgin Money is delighted the public chose Freddie as it's Dad of the Year. Never far from the public eye Freddie is as much an icon and inspiration to kids nationwide, as he is to his own children."
