About the Climate Change Fund Managers
The fund benefits from the input of 30 investment professionals based in London.
It’s managed by Pierre Lagrange (a founder of GLG and Partner), Ben Funnell (manager of GLG’s flagship European Equity Fund) and Jason Mitchell. Adeline Diab is a dedicated Environmental sector analyst working exclusively on the fund.
Ben Funnell joined GLG in May 2006 from Morgan Stanly, where he was a Managing Director and co-head of European Equity Strategy. His work focussed on market and sector selection using a disciplined fundamental approach. In his 8 years as a strategist his team was ranked first in the Institutional Investor poll six times and ranked first in every major poll in the last two years. Prior to working on Strategy Ben was a Transport Analyst at Morgan Stanley, where he worked on the IPO of Ryanair.
Following his MA in Engineering at Solvay Business School in Brussels, Pierre worked at JP Morgan for 4 years in government bond trading. He joined Goldman Sachs in 1989 where he had responsibility for managing global equity portfolios. In 1995, he co-founded GLG Partners as a division of Lehman Brothers International (Europe), where he was Managing Director concentrating on advising clients, asset allocation and co-managing Pan-European equities. In September 2000, Pierre co-founded GLG Partners LP where he has overall responsibility for European equities including long-short and long-only funds.
Jason brings a wealth of experience to the team, in both asset management and his work with environmentally aware companies. Jason has worked on global investment funds for more than 10 years, advised governments in Asia, Latin America and Africa, and has sat on the Board of Directors for a number of high profile companies.
His environmental background includes the financing of water reuse and alternative energy projects and he presented at the 2009 Copenhagen Climate Change Summit. Recently, Jason served as Chief Operating Officer for Hydrotech International; a water treatment technology and solutions company, and still enjoys his role as Advisor for Water, Renewables and Telecoms to the Commonwealth Business Council. This experience will be invaluable when looking at the fund’s ‘solution provider’ and ‘solution adopter’ companies.
