As well as choosing from our 3 cover levels, you can select additional optional cover too:

Home Emergency Assistance

This insures you for household emergencies. So if your boiler's on the blink or your pipes pack up, you can relax knowing you're covered.

Home Emergency Assistance covers you for things like

  • Bursting or sudden leakage of water pipes.
  • Underground drains or sewers failing or being damaged.
  • Complete failure of your central heating (if you have a boiler or warm air unit).
  • Missing or repositioned roof tiles.
  • Removal of wasp nests, field or house mice, or brown rats within your home.

This insurance does not cover normal day-to-day home maintenance which you should carry out or pay for. Examples of these include descaling central heating pipes or replacing tap and cistern washers.

If you suffer an emergency in your home resulting from an incident covered under the policy, we will arrange for an approved contractor to come to your home and remove the emergency.

Remember, you don't have to pay an excess for items covered by home emergency assistance.

Garden Secure Cover

With Garden Secure Cover, you get insurance for things that are part of your garden, like ponds, patios, gates, walls, fences and hedges.

The most you can claim for under this cover during your period of insurance is £750. A £50 excess will also apply.

Garden secure cover insures the items listed above against loss or damage caused by:

  • Storm, flood and fire.
  • Lightning or explosion.
  • Theft (trees and plants are only covered for theft).
  • Television aerials, masonry, satellite dishes and tiles falling from the building.
  • Malicious and accidental damage caused by any other person other than you or your immediate family.
  • Branches falling from trees.
  • Wild animals.

Please note: Trees and plants are only covered for theft, not for storm damage, flood or fire.

Family Legal Expenses

We all hope we'll never need legal support – but if you do, this covers you for up to £100,000 of legal costs and gives you access to a 24/7 legal and tax support helpline.

Costs are covered where our legal team believe there is more than a 50% chance of winning the case and achieving a positive outcome.

The types of situation that you and your family are covered for include;

  • Property protection (for example, civil claims relating to the ownership or occupation of your home including boundary and neighbour disputes).
  • Personal injury.
  • Employment disputes.
  • Clinical negligence.
  • Contract pursuit and defence (buying and selling goods).
  • Motor prosecution defence.
  • Tax enquiries.

Legal cover also offers you and your family discounted legal services for events not covered as standard. These include:

  • Routine conveyancing costs of buying or selling a house and remortgaging.
  • Divorce and child custody issues.
  • Wills and probate.

Legal cover also gives you access to Law Assistance, an online legal document service which includes access to a range of free legal documents and a step-by-step walkthrough to assist in completing the documents.
