Uninsured Loss Recovery

How it can help

If you were involved in a road accident that wasn’t your fault, the last thing you would want is to end up paying out for things like car hire, medical costs and excess.

On top of that, if you wanted to claim compensation for an injury, you could end up paying legal costs too, and the fees for a qualified solicitor or legal executive can often run much higher than £100 an hour (Source: Guideline Figures for the Summary Assessment of Costs 2008, www.hmcourts-service.gov.uk).

Uninsured Loss Recovery would cover all of these ‘losses’.

It costs less than you think

From just £1.93 a month, Uninsured Loss Recovery will pay up to £50,000 of legal costs to help recover losses that cannot be claimed on any insurance policy, such as:

  • Your car insurance excess under your Comprehensive policy.
  • Accident repair costs if you don't have Comprehensive cover.
  • Damage to your clothes, luggage or personal belongings if you don't have Comprehensive cover.
  • Hire car costs.
  • Loss of earnings.
  • Compensation for death or injury.

It covers more than just you

It also protects anyone authorised to drive or use your car and any authorised passengers.

More than just a solicitor

The solicitor that acts for you will be regulated by the Law Society. This makes sure that you receive the professional legal service you would expect. They will handle all aspects of your claim. For example, if you are injured in an accident, they will find a specialist to treat you. All specialist charges will be paid for by the cover.
