Supporting sustainability

At Virgin Money, our ambition is to make everyone better off. One of the ways we aim to do this is by making a positive impact on the world around us.

That’s why we’re very proud to be supporting Start – an exciting programme inspired by The Prince of Wales to promote sustainable living for the future.

For a future where everyone’s better off

From our recyclable Promise Tree tour to sustainable Christmas trees in our Stores, we’re championing new ways to inspire change and encourage as many people as possible to get involved.

Be the start of a sustainable future

Be the Start of a sustainable business

We love new ideas, especially when entrepreneurship and sustainability are at the heart of them.

As part of the ‘Be the Start’ campaign, Virgin Money and Start offered young entrepreneurs the chance to pitch a sustainable business idea to industry leaders from Virgin, B&Q, Marks & Spencer and IBM.

The winner was Edwin Broni-Mensah from ‘GiveMeTap’ with his reusable water bottle which people can fill up at the expanding network of participating cafes and restaurants. Every bottle sold contributes towards giving another person in Africa access to clean water. Edwin’s fantastic pitch earned him £10,000 to help develop his sustainable start-up business.
