Scotland’s iconic fireworks concert, sponsored by Virgin Money

With giant walls of silver and gold crackle-effect fireworks bursting 225 metres above Edinburgh Castle, Virgin Money’s captivating Fireworks Concert is set to thrill and delight audiences from Edinburgh and far beyond and bring the summer Festival season to a spectacular close.

Those with tickets to the prime spot gather in Princes Street Gardens with families, friends and picnics to make an evening of it, while another over 200,000 gather in the streets of Edinburgh to watch the display while listening to it live on Forth Radio. This year over 400,000 fireworks will be launched to the world-renowned Scottish Chamber Orchestra’s rousing rendition of Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture and Wagner’s Ride of the Valkyries, alongside other music fizzing with energy.

There will of course be the favourites – the every popular Waterfall down the Castle rocks – and some new whizzes and bangs to surprise and delight. The iconic close to Edinburgh’s buzzing summer Festival season it’s an unmissable occasion for young and old.
