What cancer cover isn't...

Image of a hand holding a banner that say's - Cancer Cover isn't...
  • It isn't critical illness cover
  • It isn't income protection insurance
  • It isn't accident, sickness and unemployment cover

It’s not a critical illness policy
They cover a wide variety of serious conditions such as heart attack, stroke and multiple sclerosis. Because they cover more conditions they're generally more expensive, however the most common claim on critical illness cover is for cancer. Typically the average critical illness policy (where life cover is included) will be 41% more expensive than Virgin Cancer Cover.

It isn’t income protection insurance (or permanent health insurance)
That’s designed to produce an income (usually 50% of your salary) if you’re unable to work because of ill health due to any cause. You have to prove that your illness stops you being able to work and you'll need to pick how many weeks or months you're willing to wait before it starts paying out.

It isn't accident, sickness and unemployment cover
This provides a regular income if you become unable to work as a result of an accident, sickness or disability. Accident, sickness and unemployment cover pays out a set income for a set time which you choose at the start of the plan.

We're not claiming to cure cancer or prevent it. Our insurance is simply designed to alleviate some of the financial burdens that can crop up if you get cancer in the future.
