Good causes

It's always nice to help others, and at Virgin Money we like to do our bit.

2004 saw a change to the way Virgin Money and other Virgin companies look at charity.

Richard Branson launched Virgin Unite in September 2004 to tackle tough social challenges by using Virgin's global resources and its people. We're now focussed on not just what we can raise in monetary terms, but what we can give of our time through the many skills Virgin staff have to offer.

In the UK Virgin Unite is supporting a network of 12 amazing grass-roots charities. They are all doing innovative and high impact work to help children and young adults. Some have been bereaved, abused or bullied. Some are suffering from social exclusion, poverty or drug problems. Others are affected by cancer or disability. If you'd like to find out more, check out www.virginunite.com.

Every member of Virgin Money staff is given a free day to allow them to get involved with charitable work one day a year. As well as being totally committed to Virgin Unite, we are also active in supporting our local community. A number of our staff work with local projects and many more are taking part in a wide range of fundraising projects from climbing mountains to organising charity gigs.
